Adhesive Recomended
We prefer "3M Spray 90" just because you can find it on the shelf at Home Depot or Lowes almost always.
NEVER USE "3M SPRAY 77"
Drilling
Holes can be easily drilled with an electric hand drill using metal drill bits. Use a utility knife for large holes. After you have determined the exact location of the holes to be drilled, place the backside of headliner against a block of wood with the textured surface facing up on your workbench. Slowly drill your holes and clean the edges with a small X-Acto knife or piece of rolled sand paper.
Upholstering: What fabric works the best?
The key to the ease of upholstering is in the stiffness of the fabric itself, the thinner the backing, the more flexible the fabric will be, therefore easier to use.
Now What?
Overlap your fabric, leaving approximately 2 inches of extra material on all sides of the panel. This will assure you plentiful working space and will leave enough material to be pulled over the sides and glued to the back of the panel. Spray glue to both the front of the panel and the back of the fabric, letting dry for 15 minutes before contact. Fold fabric back halfway and work your way down the panel two feet at a time, pressing, pulling and smoothing, a high temp contact spray adhesive.
Painting
Your new ABS headliner can be painted to match or contrast your truck’s interior color scheme. We suggest using SEM Vinyl Coating, which should be available through your local automotive paint supplier or upholstery shop. It is always best to paint the headliner when it is out of the vehicle. Follow the instructions on the can.
HINT: Spray the textured surface of the headliner with acrylic lacquer thinner (NOT TURPENTINE) and let dry, DO NOT TOUCH THE SURFACE TILL DRY AS THE THINNER WILL MAKE THE SUFACE SMEAR. Shake can well. Best results will be obtained when the surface temperature of the headliner is at least 70 degrees. Wear a mask and paint in a well-ventilated area.
Chop Top Kits
Collapsible content
Can you customize the chopped top kit?
Yes, we can customize the Chop Top Kit based on your specific modifications. While the standard kit typically adds 2.5 inches to the roof, we can adjust the components to fit your exact needs.
For example, one customer ordered the RD3225 Headliner Kit. He didn’t chop the top but widened the roof by 6 inches in the middle where the doors are. For his setup, we provided a custom kit that included two center (door-to-door) headliner pieces, each cut to 7 inches wide. These are the only additional parts needed and should be added to the headliner box before sealing.
In such cases, the standard components of the kit may not be necessary and can be excluded. We’re happy to tailor the kit to match your build.
The other parts of the kit normally included are not needed for this customer.
Kick Panels
Collapsible content
Are they made for speakers?
You can easily install speakers in the kick panel with our speaker pods that aim the sound more towards your ears or directly into the kick panels.
I plan on installing sound deadening, Will these body parts work with that ?
Yes, of course, worst case you may have to trim away some deadener to allow the Dulloc Tabs to stick to the metal
Do I need to clean before applying the glue?
Panels should be clean and free of dirt and debris. We Recommend Dawn and Water. The Dawn spray is even better. Spray both sides, scrub and rinse with plain water, then let fully dry.
Kick Panels With Speakers
Collapsible content
What Size Speaker fits ?
All kick panels are designed to fit 6.5" speakers. if you want a different size order flat kicks and separate speaker pods for sizes 4" 5" etc...
Can you fit a Wiper Kit in with the speaker?
6.5" refers to the diameter of the speaker, not the height. With a 3" depth of magnet on the speaker and a 2" height of the speaker pod (built-in recessed mount speaker pod) you should have room to relocate the hidden wiper kit on the passenger side kick panel area...
Door Panels

What if I can't find my Make, Model, or Year?
Designer Door Panels or Trim To Fit Door Panels all would be good choices . We do not pretrim older cars as we don't know several things:
How high the armrest is to the bottom of the window?
In general 9-11" is a good ball park. This way the customer can determine their preference.
What we suggest is that they decide how high and where they want the armrest and trim the panel accordingly, regardless of how the panels fit. If I get the armrest where I want it and the panel does not cover the bottom of the Door, I don't worry because I know I will be cutting off the top of the panel and then I can glue it to the bottom of the panel to cover the rest of the Door.
Is there a better way to attach the door panels without drilling? Also, the ABS material is great, but the spray adhesive isn’t holding. Is there a more permanent solution?
1. Mounting Panels Without Drilling
Dualloc tabs are a great no-drill option, but correct placement is critical. They are 3/16" thick, so if the gap between the panel and door is larger (e.g., 1/2" or more), the tension may pull the tab off—this is not a product defect but a fitment issue.
Tips for better results:
Space tabs 5–7 inches apart.
If your design requires placing a tab where the gap is too large:
Option 1: Stack two tabs to fill larger gaps (e.g., 3/8").
Option 2: Glue 1.5" x 1.5" ABS plastic shims behind the panel using ABS pipe cement, building it up until the gap is reduced to 3/16".
2. Improving Fabric Adhesion
If your fabric isn’t sticking to the ABS, the spray adhesive is likely the issue.
Solution:
Use only high heat-resistant spray adhesive. Look for this wording on the label—if it doesn’t say “high heat-resistant,” it likely won’t hold over time. We recommend options like 3M Spray 90, which is widely available and proven to work well with ABS panels.
Trim-to-Fit Universal Door Panels
Collapsible content
How big are the trim-to-fit universal panels?
44” x 32”. Each set contains two black ABS panels, right and left, with the pattern centered in each panel.
What size are the patterns?
23”, 30” & 36”. The designs are sized so you can trim the out
How do I fit an armrest?
Some panels have an integrated armrest, or you can add a modular armrest
What about my rear doors and panels?
Use your old panels as a template or make a new template from cardboard. Transfer the pattern to the new panel. Use a sharp utility knife to score the trim line and then break off the excess. Drill appropriate sized holes for door handles and window cranks
Covering your panels?
Oversize your material by 2”-3” all around the panel. Fold the material in half, starting in the center or over the armrest. Spray adhesive on a 2 sq. Ft. area of both the panel and material, let it tack up. Then stretch the material over the armrest and work your way up and down the panel. Once you have the center down, work toward the outside edges in strips 2 sq. Ft. at a time. Glue Cheese Hi-Temp spray adhesive is recommended
